Online shopping can be dangerous for collegiettes whose only spare cash goes towards ramen, Saturday nights out at the bars, and their daily Starbucks of choice. I try to avoid online shopping because I know how it goes at this point: I’m listening to my professor in lecture and without even realizing it, I’ve made my way to urbanoutfitters.com.
At first, I’m merely contemplating snagging that sweater that I’ve had my eyes on for a few weeks – after all, it’s on sale! And now that I think about it, I really do need something to wear on Thanksgiving! Ok, I guess I’ll get it. But oh wait, what’s that? I need to spend $50 to get free shipping? I can’t pass that up, I’m being economical here.
Eventually, I find myself entering my credit card information with over $200 worth of cute-yet-overpriced merchandise in my shopping cart. At first, I’m on a high that can only be attained by the prospect of new clothes, but before I’ve had enough time to gloat in my post-shopping-spree-buzz, I am overcome with guilt. Did I really just spend $60 on a crop top? It’s October! Oh and what was that thing my professor just said about a test on Friday? Oh boy…
Anyway, the point is that shopping online is unsafe. Fortunately, now there is a cure for this detrimental disease! Some of the best discount retailers are joining the World Wide Web, so you can get your fix without the guilt (sort of)!
TJ Maxx launched its e-commerce site on Tuesday, September 17th. It’s about time! Here’s our dish on all they have to offer…
What you will find here:
Staples, staples, and more staples. This is definitely the place to go when you need cheap must-haves that are better quality than those you might find at a site like Forever21.com or H&M.com. They have great little black dresses, knit tops, sweaters, and so much more.
What you will NOT find here:
Hidden gems. You know that great Michael Kors bag you found at TJ’s last year tucked in the back corner? It’s still your favorite piece and you got a GREAT deal on it! You definitely should NOT expect to find those crazy bargains at tjmaxx.tjx.com. They offer a much smaller selection online than in-stores.
Top 10 Items Available NOW:
Even though their selection doesn’t compare to the things you could probably find at your local TJ’s, here are the 10 best pieces you can find on tjmaxx.tjx.com right now:
