Pinterest. It’s an awesome way to get ideas and inspiration for just about anything. If you don’t know what Pinterest is, don’t worry. I started using this app about five years ago and since then, I’m on it almost every day. Basically, it’s an app/website where you can “pin” pictures, links, and videos to a “board” on your profile. I have boards for so many different things. Some of mine include teaching, bedroom decor, and fashion. I love scrolling through my feed and pinning pictures and websites to all my boards. I’ve also found items that I love, and have bought them directly through Pinterest!
One of my favorite boards is my fashion board because I get so much inspiration for what I want to wear. There are so many different styles and people to follow for different looks. I’ve bought shoes, pants, and jackets from Pinterest and I love them!
Another one of my favorite boards is my cooking board. I have hundreds of recipes and meals that I’ve pinned and I can’t even begin to guess how many dishes I’ve tried. As a college student, finding meals that are quick and easy can be super difficult, but I’ve found so many recipes that I love from Pinterest alone. If you have dietary restrictions, you can find accounts and pins that follow those restrictions and have still countless meals to choose from!
So why should you use Pinterest? It’s tailored to your interests and styles which show up curated on your homepage. It’s super easy to use, and you can use it for whatever purpose you want: shopping, sharing, or even owning a business and getting your name out there. Personally, I use it for creativity and getting ideas. You can find almost any niche topic you’re into such as cleaning, reading, DIY projects, and pet supplies. I love the organizational aspect of it and having a board for each of my interests. I love home decor, so I have an inspiration board for literally every room of my future home. (Maybe a bit crazy.)
I want to teach elementary school, so I love using Pinterest to look into teaching strategies and links to websites for first-year teachers. I also use it to look up classroom decor and affordable hacks for the classroom. It has been extremely helpful to hear from other teachers and the things that they suggest.
I hope this inspired you to start using Pinterest if you haven’t already because I seriously think everyone can find what they’re looking for on it. It’s been so helpful to me throughout the years, plus it’s a great way to help small businesses!
