Going home for break is probably one of the greatest gifts in the world; home-cooked meals, sleeping in your own bed, what’s not to love? Except, of course, actually getting home. For out-of-staters who live hours away from their school, taking buses, trains, and even planes to get home is one of the greatest struggles out there. So when it comes to going home for break, there are many thoughts running wild in the minds of those preparing for a long travel ahead of them….and here are just a few of them.
1. Omg wait I’m so excited to go home.
2. Seriously, no classes for a while? I’m down.
3. I hope Mom cooks that pasta dish I love.
4. And maybe I can convince her to buy me a new winter jacket. I need one.
5. And if I’m nice enough, she’ll buy me some new boots too.
6. Oh shoot, I should probably text her that I’m about to leave.
7. Wait, should I get food? I feel like I’ll get hungry.
8. Do I want chips? What if those are loud? I should probably be healthy and choose fruit.
9. M&Ms it is.
10. Why is it so crowded? How is everyone going home right now?
11. I wanted an open seat next to me so I could sleep.
12. Maybe I’ll just put all my stuff on the chair next to me and pretend it’s taken.
13. I hope that baby doesn’t keep crying for the entire trip.
14. I should’ve made a better playlist. Guess I’ll make one now!
15. Wait, did they just announce something?
16. Oh crap, everyone’s getting up. I guess we’re boarding!
17. I’m so far back in line I’m definitely not going to get a good seat.
18. Well, I guess this one will do.
19. I hope no one sits next to me….please don’t sit next to me…please…
20. “No, this seat isn’t taken!” Noooooo why do I have to be nice.
21. Hopefully they won’t be too bad. They seem normal.
22. But then again, so did the last guy.
23. I should start my homework now so I won’t have to do it while I’m home.
24. Wait, why do I have so much homework, don’t they know we’re on a break??
25. Okay, if I do some of my calc homework, I’ll be good.
26. What even is this.
27. One problem? Good enough!
28. I’ve worked so hard… I deserve a nap.
29. There is no possible way I can find a comfortable sleeping position.
30. WHY DID THE PERSON NEXT TO ME HAVE TO SIT THERE – THAT IS MY BED.
31. Also, they really need to turn their music down…I can hear it through their headphones.
32. I wonder where they’re headed anyway. Do I go to school with them?
33. Probably.
34. I just want to be in my own bed.
35. How much longer?? TWO HOURS?!?
36. Why did I choose to be an out-of-state student. This sucks.
37. Oh look, everyone’s back with their families already according to Snapchat. Lovely.
38. I hope I remembered to bring everything I needed. I did, right? I had to.
39. Crap. No I didn’t.
40. Guess mom will have to buy that for me too!
41. That is, if I ever get home.
42. Maybe I’ll play solitaire. Haven’t done that in a while.
43. This is shamefully addicting.
44. Wait did he just say….thirty minutes until I’m home??
45. YAAAAASSSSSSS.
46. Better pack up all my stuff so I can get out right away!
47. Alright, that took one minute.
48. Home home home home home home home.
49. I can’t wait to see my dog!! I’ve missed him so much omg I need to be home.
50. Ten minutes. I got this.
51. My neighbor better get their stuff together – I’m not waiting for them to take forever to leave.
52. OMG I’M HOME!!!!
53. That was awful. Can’t wait to do that again in a few days!
