At this time of year, it’s always hard to find motivation for the day. It’s important that even though it’s getting colder, and it’s dark outside more than it’s not, we create morning routines for ourselves that make us excited to start our day. I am guilty of it, too, wanting to lay in bed until the last minute and stay warm for as long as possible before having to go outside and face the day. However, I have found it so beneficial to create a routine for myself before starting my day that helps me stay motivated.Â
- I love to set my alarm a little before I actually have to get out of bed, so I can have time to lay down and relax without feeling like I’m going to have to rush when I actually do get up. This has helped me have more relaxed mornings. I can scroll through my phone and enjoy the comfort of my bed before needing to start my busy day.Â
- Next, I get up to do my skincare routine and brush my teeth. This is one of my favorite parts of the morning, because it makes me feel clean and refreshed as soon as I get up.Â
- I am someone that loves to get my workouts out of the way in the morning, so I typically will go work out at this point. For me, it’s so much easier to get it out of the way in the morning and not have it lingering over my head throughout the day! Before I go, I take a protein bar or eat something else that will help my body perform in the best way!Â
- Now, whether I work out or not, I then love to get in the shower and rinse my body. For me, this is an essential part of feeling refreshed for the day. It doesn’t have to be long, and I usually just clean my body and go on to getting ready, but this is so important for my mornings! After getting out of bed, it’s so nice to get in the warm shower and start your day with a freshly washed body. If I do work out, I typically do a full shower and wash my hair!Â
- After I shower I pick out my outfit based on the weather, and what vibe I am feeling for the day. It’s so important to feel comfortable in what you are going to be wearing!Â
- Now it’s time to eat something that will fuel your body and make you feel good for whatever you have to go out and do. I usually also have a coffee, or some other fun drink, to enjoy before my day really starts.Â
Having a nice routine made up of things that are meant for you and only you really help get your day on the right track. It’s so easy to get distracted and forget to truly take care of yourself throughout the day; which is why I like to make sure my morning routine is full of things that will help me feel my best, no matter what the day holds. I have learned that being able to do all of this for myself in the morning before my day starts does require me to wake up a little earlier. However, I am not mad about that if it means I get to do all these things that I know will help me feel my best throughout the day!
