Spring break is long gone, midterms are a distant memory, and summer is so close, it feels like it’s taunting us. The push to the end of the year is coming, along with warmer weather. This is also the easiest time to lose focus, and get overwhelmed. Not only do you have to start preparing for exams, but also getting ready to pack up, especially if you live in the dorms that require you to be out 24 hours after your last final. Here’s a few ways to stay motivated during this busy time.
- Clear out the Clutter: Though you already came to school with plenty, those nights of online shopping are starting to show with your overflowing closet that has undoubtedly started to spill out onto your floor, desk chair and other areas of your room. Chances are, you don’t need a lot of these clothes in the month that’s left of school. Boxing them up and putting them out of the way or slowly starting to send things home will make you feel more organized as you have to focus on school, as well as help you to have a lot less packing to do during finals week.
- Make A Schedule: One of the advantages of college is getting a syllabus on the first day of class with every test, paper, and assignment due date. By scheduling time to study or finish up those final papers (and sticking to it!) will help to slowly complete assignments rather than letting those last couple weeks of class get out of control.
- Set up a reward system: Rather than treating yourself to food or a new purchase that would reverse all your organization work, tell yourself that once you finish a paper or assignment, you’ll give yourself a night to catch up on missed TV shows, or a fun night out with friends. By having something to look forward to, you will be much more likely to get your work done on time.
Rather than using your free time between classes or on weeknights to watch TV or to Pinterest the night away, get yourself organized so that you can spend more time enjoying the end of the school year!
