With the return of a new semester comes new classes, friendships, and relationships. With these budding new relationships comes the familiar dating process everyone goes through and fears. To add to this stress, collegiettes (TM), like anyone else going on a first date, get to silently stress over what the guys real thoughts were about the date. To help us decode the thought process of some guys in regards to first dates, we turn to our current Campus Cutie, Hangi Lee.

Major: Aerospace Engineering
Interests: Tennis, Golfing, Sailing
Favorite Quote: “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” – Albert Einstien
Favorite Song: “Under Pressure” by Queen
Relationship Status: Single
Turn Ons: Girls who are chill
Turn Offs: Girls who can’t carry on a conversation

HC: What are guys impressions about girls who take the straight-forward approach and ask the guy to hang out?
Girls who are straight forward and don’t play games are the best. Just tell me what’s on your mind and we’ll go from there.

HC: Are girls who wait for guys to make the first move really that annoying?
It’s not annoying if a girl waits on a guy, but at least give some hints. Hints are helpful!

HC: Splitting the bill on the first date (or later dates) – yes or no and why?
I prefer to pay on dates because it’s something I’ve always done, and I want to pay for her.

HC: Contact after the first date – what should usually be expected if it was good?
If the first date went well, its usually expected that the girl texts you the next day (from my personal experience).

HC: How can girls tell when a guy isn’t interested after the first date?
If a guy isn’t interested after the first date then usually he keeps his texts very short and doesn’t plan another date within a week or two.

HC: Out of the three choices, which one is usually the best date for a guy and why:

  1. A traditional date with dinner and a movie.
  2. Something more exciting and out of the ordinary, like go-karting.
  3. Going to a sporting event for a team you both like (or for different teams you both like that are playing each other)

The best date for a guy out of the three choices is definitely going to a sporting event for a team we both like, or for different teams that we both like that are playing against each other. This way we both have a similar interest and we can be ourselves during the game.

HC: Do guys get weirded out when girls try to start something with Valentine’s Day getting so close?
Valentine’s day all depends on how long you’ve been going out. If its a new relationship then, yeah, it’s kind of weird, but if you’ve been dating awhile then whatever. In all honesty Valentine’s Day is not our favorite holiday.
