It’s with excitement and champagne that Ottawa Fashion Week launched its 10th edition.
It all happened last night at the Salon Royal of the Casino du Lac-Leamy. The media were invited to attend an evening to celebrate the new and certainly awaited Spring/Summer 2014 season. Many of the designers presenting this weekend were also attending the event giving us an exciting peak into the highly secretive line-up.
Besides the drinks, we were welcomed by two gorgeous models wearing Zarucci dresses. The fantastic work of the designer truly amazed me. The choice in the transparent fabric with beige and pink jewellery appliqué just transported me in a fairy world. I will definitely be looking forward for the rest of her collection.
Also showing glimpses of his collection was Godfrey, the designer of Beaucoup Fashion House. The edgy and talented artist brought his male and female models to wear modern, but simple, looks with zebra prints. He certainly made me curious and I can’t wait to attend on Saturday.
Following the conversations between the attendees, Bruno Racine, Creative Director for OFW, made a speech thanking all the sponsors and partners for making such an event possible, but also by pointing out the partnership between OFW and the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation in support of the Maplesoft Centre.
Of course, other designers such as Bernice & Barclay, Iman and Elena Hinke were present at the event! Still working very hard on their collections, but leaving their atelier for a nice and relaxed evening.
Ottawa Fashion Week will be happening on Friday September 13th until Sunday September 15th at the very glamorous Hilton Hotel on Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, QC.
