The Best Cafés For Your Study Session

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Ottawa chapter.

Looking to get out of the library to catch up on all those lectures and readings you didn’t do this semester? Here’s a list of the best places to stop by and catch up or grab a bite to eat.

Ministry of Coffee

  • Located @ 279 Elgin St.
  • Must try: Nutella Latte
  • Free WIfi
  • Small but quaint
  • Super friendly staff
  • In a prime location to grab a beer after a long day of studying
  • Student friendly

Bridgehead Glebe

  • Located @ 750 Bank Street
  • Must try: Apple Cider (get the large, you’ll thank me)
  • Free Wifi
  • Large seating area (lots of single booths)
  • Open late
  • Friendly Staff

Art-Is-In

  • Located @ 250 City Centre Drive
  • Must try: EVERYTHING. But if you’re indecisive, I recommend the bacon donut or the brownies, or the sticky buns, realistically you can’t go wrong.
  • Large seating area, more of a study break go-to. Heads up it can get extremely busy, totally worth the journey and rush.
  • Everything is made in house… can’t stress the difference this makes.

Café- Alt

  • Located @ Basement of Simard
  • Wifi
  • Must try: Brownies and Grilled Cheese
  • Usually pretty busy but the location is perfect and doesn’t require to journey off campus.

Second Cup

  • Located on Rideau and Dalhousie
  • Wifi
  • Almost always seating available
  • Must Try: Caremel Correddo or the Frozen Hot Chocolate
