It’s the most wonderful time of the academic year (said no one, ever); it’s time for the students continuing their studies at uOttawa to undergo the dreaded registration period. For those students who want to take classes over the summer, the period starts a bit earlier, with class registration for next year following later on. If anyone understands the frustration of class registration, it’s our good friend Kermit the Frog. If this is your first registration, here is what you can expect!
First, trying to figure out what you’re taking next year can be a headache. You wait and wait for the course timetables to be posted.
Oooh! The timetables are posted. You’re now planning what your ideal class schedule is. No 8ams? Check. No 7-10s? Check.
You log onto uOzone to realize that the enroll system is completely new from last year. Uh oh. *cue slight panic attack*
Oh great. A midnight registration? Can they be anymore cruel?
Alright, it’s registration time now. I’ve got my schedule and course sections next to me, my computer is all charged, and I’m 100% ready. I’ve found two of my classes and booked them, but two of them are full.
Wait, you can be waitlisted for a class? What does that mean? I don’t get this new system!!
Oh no, the free spaces are disappearing; I better just pick two random sections. I don’t want to be stuck with a waitlist.
Great, a 7-10. Can’t wait for next semester.
*Sigh* Well, I guess this schedule isn’t too bad.
Well Enrol, this has been fun but it’s time for me to go to bed. Goodnight!
Good luck with registration, collegiettes!
