To be honest, I’m not a big fan of Halloween. I like the occasional horror movie, and even though I have a huge sweet tooth, it doesn’t extend to candy bars (think more pastries and baked goods.) But even though I don’t like candy, I’m not above using candy to make other delicious sweets—on Halloween, I usually hand out candy to kids knocking on my door and bake a spooky-themed treat for myself!

If you find yourself with some extra time this Halloween, here are some fun bakes you can try:

Boo Bark

How cute is this bark? To add a little bit of extra fun to the festivities, you can make this treat to take as a snack for the day. Even if you’re spending all day in classes (or studying for midterms, like me) seeing these cute, ghost-like chocolate sweets in your lunch is bound to add a smile to your face. Plus, it’s chocolate—an instant mood booster!

Halloween Chocolate Cookies

Who said decorating cookies can only happen during the holiday season? If you’re looking for a more quiet night on Halloween, hosting a cookie decorating party with your friends using this recipe can be the perfect activity! You can prepare the cookie dough beforehand and just take it out to bake and decorate the day of. Have fun using Halloween-themed cookie cutters and decorating each cookie differently.

Halloween Candy Cookie Bars

If you’re struggling with choosing which candy bar to eat, why not have them all? These candy cookie bars sound simply divine. Having smaller bites of different candy bars in between the rich cookie flavour sounds like the perfect Halloween addition. It might be one of the few acceptable ways to add all of your favourite Halloween candy into one giant sweet. ;)

After writing about all these treats, I feel the need to go make them all! Whether you’re a die-hard Halloween fan or you couldn’t care less, these treats will be the perfect addition to your Halloween festivities, or as a way to treat yourself, just because. I definitely know what my plans for Halloween night are going to be!
