Steal Her Style is a new, reoccurring fashion profile featuring different celebrities who rock their style like no other. These ladies’ impressive closets are places I would just love to frolic around in for days.
As a fellow student, I know the struggle of trying to decide if buying a gorgeous pair of heels is worth a steady diet of instant noodles. So to keep within our budgets, all items featured in this series will be no more than $100. Stealing her look without going bankrupt? Sounds like a win- win situation to me!
So first up is the one-of-a-kind Solange Knowles.
Most people know Solange just as the little sister to Queen B, but she’s much more than that; Solange is a fashionista in her own right. When she’s not throwing down in elevators, she is making funky indie pop music, modelling, and appearing at fashion shows front-row ready. Recently appointed as the art director for popular shoe brand PUMA, Solange has definitely made her mark in the fashion industry.
Her retro signature style is what sets her apart from the rest. Clearly pulling inspiration from seventies’ fashion, Solange can rock an afro and bell bottom jeans like no other. So how is a collegiette to channel this fashionista on a budget?
The key to stealing her style is to shop vintage. Items such as a faux fur coat, acid wash jeans, crop tops, oversized blazers, round sunglasses, and chunky heels are a must. Keep in mind sophisticated patterns and bright colours for your wardrobe, as well as layering and embracing your love for tribal prints.
