What does your Native American identity mean to you?
Being Native American is more than just being a different race for me. I am Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux of the Dakota people and am more than just a Native. All tribes are different and as Americans inhabiting tribal lands, it’s important to recognize that all tribes are different and have different histories and traditions. I like learning about the ways of my ancestors and participating in tribal events whenever I have the opportunity to. I find comfort in knowing I have a whole tribal family who supports and understands me.
