When did you first get involved with Her Campus?
My freshman year, when I was looking for publications to get involved with on campus.
What other positions did you hold with the HC UPenn team before becoming Editor-in-Chief?
I started off as a writer, then became a managing editor, and now Editor-in-Chief!
What is your favorite part about Her Campus as a national organization?
I think it’s really cool that there are Her Campus chapters all across the nation, because it helps to unify college women and serves as a platform for us to express our interests, concerns, and thoughts on particular issues. Her Campus, which is headquartered in Boston, as a really clear mission and provides a ton of support for every individual chapter, from assigning us Chapter Advisors to sending us Finals Survival Kits.Â
What do you like about being Editor of Penn’s collegiate chapter?
I like that I get to be a part of all aspects of publication, from marketing to administrative duties to actual writing features. As someone with a love for writing and an appreciation for journalism who is also interested in the more business/PR side of communications, being Editor-in-Chief of Penn’s Her Campus allows me to gain experience from every angle.
What is unique about Her Campus vs. other campus publications?
First, Her Campus is unique in that it is part of a larger, national publication that serves a community for all college women. Her Campus at Penn is unique because you can potentially be given a lot of responsibility from the beginning–we are still a growing team and are always looking for people to contribute their own creative and unique ideas to our chapter!
