You may remember that I wrote an article about Beauty Gurus, so I decided it’s about time to write about Beauty Blogs. Blogs, I find, are extremely informative about products and tips. The best part is that they’re updated much more frequently than Youtube videos and cover a broader range of products. There’s so much variety in the blogger world, there’s just about a niche for everyone. In this article, I’ll be sharing my top 4 favourite beauty blogs in no particular order.
- Musing of a Muse
The Muse, her online alias, blogs about all things beauty from reviews to sneak peeks. She also loves discounts, so expect some great insight on online sales. She also buys a lot of her products online, so her knowledge of online buyers is amazing, which is pretty helpful when you’re stuck on where to get certain items. Muse doesn’t just limit herself to reviewing Western brands, she also reviews brands from Japan and Korea. Furthermore, her blog is very organized as there’s a list of all the different brands she’s covered. But the best part, I think, is that she updates on a regular basis.

- Temptalia
Temptalia was my first beauty blog, so it holds a special place in my heart. When I couldn’t decide which products to buy or when I wanted to know the latest product release, I went to Temptalia. Christine, who founded Temptalia, owns one of the most popular and widely read beauty blogs. It’s a no brainer considering the amount of product reviews, swatches, and dupes on her blog. Reviews are graded out of either 5 or 10 in 5 categories: product, pigmentation, texture, longevity, and application. I also enjoy the quality of the photos and the swatches. Tempetalia is also very helpful in that it offers a lot of sneak peeks on products that may not be available to the public until later.
- We Heart This
This blog isn’t just about beauty, there are other topics available such as food, home and living, how to’s, music, and books. Talk about range! There are also many more people on this team than other blogs, which means different perspectives about products! This is especially useful since everyone has different skin types and such.
- Beauty Broadcast
You might recognize her since she’s a beauty guru on Youtube! Emily, one of my favourite gurus, also runs a blog called Beauty Broadcast. She reviews products, show swatches, and does different make-up looks. The brands she reviews range from high-end to drugstore. There’s also a great forum where you can talk to other subscribers about reviews and recommendations. I also really enjoy reading her “daily nuggets”, the updates about her life.
