On January 31st 2018, Bell hosted its annual Bell Let’s Talk Day. For the past seven years the event has aimed at bringing awareness, education to end the stigma around mental illness. This year, Varsity Blues athletes once again joined the conversation, posting pictures on social media wearing Bell Let’s Talk toques and holding a banner that they had signed in support of the event. By having student-athletes engaged in the conversation, we help open the doors to more conversations and more awareness towards mental health. This year Bell raised almost 7 million dollars on Bell Let’s Talk Day with over 138 million people participating in the event. Bell Let’s Talk is helping to get the conversation going, but it’s our job to continue it, and by having both students and student-athletes engaged in the conversation we are taking a step in the right direction.
