Campus Cutie: Garret Hill

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Vic chapter.

Meet this week’s Campus Cutie, Garret Hill (right)!

YEAR: 2nd

MAJOR: Sciences with a minor in Business

HOMETOWN: Prince George

ACTIVITIES: Soccer, hockey, waterskiing, travelling

RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single (lonely)

HC: Name your favourite quality in a girl.

Humour is pretty important. I don’t want to be shallow, but being pretty too.

HC: What’s your favourite holiday?

I know everyone says Christmas, but I love Christmas. Easter is a close second because my parents still put on Easter egg hunts. I just really like the chocolate.

HC: What do you love most about UVic?

Coming from the north, I love the mild winters and being able to play soccer outside year round. And the people, especially my roommates.

HC: What’s your favourite emoji and why?

Monkey covering its eyes. All the monkey ones actually; I use those a lot.

HC: What is your guilty pleasure?

Iggy Azealia, Nicki Minaj, female rappers in general.

HC: Name a fun fact about yourself.

I’m really into summer activities. So water skiing, water boarding, wake surfing, spending time at the lake… I’m a huge lake person.

HC: What’s your pre-party pump up song?

Thunderstruck by ACDC because you can play that drinking game. You can get pretty fired up while listening to it.

HC: What’s your idea of a perfect date?

A nice sunny day, go out for brunch on the harbour, get a hot chocolate, then go skating at that rink at the Fairmont. I’m really good at skating so it would be a good opportunity to show off.

HC: If you could get a plane ticket to anywhere, where would you go?

Probably to South America since it’s still sort of winter. I would love to go to Europe but I’d rather go there in the summer. So I’d go to Rio de Janeiro because of the beaches and the soccer scene.

HC: If you met yourself for the first time, what would your first impression be?

I’d say first impression would be kind of shy, but this guy is cool underneath it all. He’s done some rad things in his life.

HC: What’s a piece of advice you’d give your 12 year old self?

I’d still give it to myself now, but don’t be scared of what people think of you.

HC: Would you ever get a tattoo? If yes, what would you get?

It would take me a long time to get one because I’m wary of what people think, so if I were to get one it would be somewhere discrete like my ankle. It would probably be family related because I’m not that artsy. Or something small on my ass.

HC: What did you want to be when you were a kid?

Orthodontist. I was thinking about the money. It was being in the NHL first, but when I realised that would never happen, I decided [to be an] orthodontist.

Third year UVic business student. Lover of food, fashion, and photography.
Femi Tunde-Oladepo is in her final year at the University of Victoria where she is studying at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business. After her undergrad, Femi hopes to read law and master French, Spanish and Italian. She is an active volunteer in her community and enjoys working with the Rotaract Club on campus. Having filled numerous notebooks as a child, Femi adores writing — especially short stories. She likes to dance (spontaneously), listen to all genres of music, laugh loudly and be the sassiest person in a room. In her spare time, Femi likes to window shop online, go for runs and reorganize spaces. One day, Femi hopes to perfect the art of soft pretzels. Follow her on Instagram @femzieb to see her attempts at being artsy and pensive.
