With Saint Patrick’s Day behind us, you may be regretting the extra beers you had during your big night out (or in)! While you may have woken up with something stained green, there’s other problems on your plate. Feeling dehydrated and like you slept on a boat in rocky seas can put a damper on your day, but with these tips, hopefully you can shorten your time of misery!
If you’re so hungover you can’t move:
We’ve been there – sometimes it feels like you can’t grab a glass of water with a throbbing headache and nausea in the way. If you have roommates, asking them to bring you a glass of water as a favour can help you get back on your feet soon. Bland foods such as bread are a plus to get in your system, however if your stomach can’t fathom it, having easy access to food (such as on your bedside table) can prevent any additional gut-turning walks to the kitchen.
If you’re feeling just a little off:
So, you’re thankful you’re only experiencing some shakes and “hangxiety” – now what can you do to recover by the afternoon? A healthy breakfast can be key for recuperating. As alcohol can disrupt the absorption of amino acids, incorporating lots of protein can help you recover any missed nutrients.
After a big night out, you probably want to hit snooze on your morning workout. You don’t have to miss out on movement, as stretches can help mend those hangover aches and pains.
