College can be really stressful and sometimes we all could use a brain break. Here are five hobbies we should all consider picking up:
1. Crocheting
I have a confession. I have three unfinished blankets sitting in a storage bin, all ready to be completed. But the good thing is, I know exactly how to finish them (eventually), because I know which stitches I need to do. It’s a great hobby to pick up, especially if you find yourself sitting around the house with nothing to do.
2. Learn a language
In today’s growing business world, we will eventually run into someone who doesn’t speak English. Spanish is the second most spoken language in the US. How cool would it be to be part of that demographic? With so many opportunities, like taking a class or downloading an app on your phone, learning a language can be so easy!
3. Cooking or Baking
One of my guilty pleasures is watching the Food Network. I love all of the ideas, and I want to try to recreate them on my own. My mom always shares recipes on Facebook with me, and last night I tried this one, Chicken Cheese Steak from allrecipes.com.
4. Adult Coloring Books
These are extremely relaxing and turn out beautifully! The only things you need are coloring books, colored pencils, and the ability to color inside the lines!
5. Outdoor Activities
I can’t reiterate this enough; I love being outside! I recently just started snowshoeing, and although it’s harder than it sounds, it truly was a rewarding and fun experience. During the summer I love to go hiking, mountain biking, mudding and fishing, and during the winter I love to ice skate, ski, and now snowshoe!

There are so many more hobbies out there to conquer, this list is only the beginning! So if you find yourself just sitting around the house, try one of these or one of your own!
