As I registered for my last semester of classes at UW, and looked around at all of my freshman teammates, I realized one thing… DAMN, I have come a long LONG way since freshman year.
So, here is a list of realizations and questions (and answers I have to tell myself) that I have had, that I would have never even considered as a freshman.
-
Can I get away with not wearing a bra to class? I mean, my sweatshirt is pretty loose and saggy… hmmmmmmm.
-
When is the last time I washed my hair? Saturday, right? Or was it Friday…

Writing a 12-15 page paper really isn’t that bad. At this point, only having to write 12-15 pages is almost a miracle. Also, double spacing saves lives.
-
On that same note, having to present for 20 minutes in front of your class with a group is not hard. 20 minutes is the smallest amount of time especially when shared with a group. Don’t worry, you can do it!
-
Even when school is stressful, and there is a lot to get done, don’t worry. Eventually it will get done, you’re not going to allow yourself to just not write that paper and get a zero, or just not show up for your presentation. It will all get done and once it’s over with, you’ll wonder why you were so stressed out about it in the first place. (Or thank God that it’s over because it really was the worst thing ever.)

How long can I go without going to the grocery store? Is it okay to eat oatmeal for every meal until I go? Oatmeal is delicious!
-
The less often you wear makeup, the better you look without it. Makeup is fun, and I really do enjoy it, but on a day-to-day basis, let your face breathe and be free! You’re beautiful in your own skin!

Last but not least, as a freshman, I don’t think that I thought I would ever be looking at graduating college in 6 months. Not to say that I didn’t think I would graduate, but it seemed like it would just go on forever, but nothing has ever gone by faster. So, enjoy your time collegiettes! Carpe Diem!
