If you marched in the Women’s March on Washington this past week, you may be wondering what’s next. Despite the fact that we live in Canada, there are concrete actions that we can still take going forward. This is by no means a comprehensive list of everything that you can do, but hopefully it can give you a start:
1. Join UBC’s Social Justice Centre’s Stand AGAINST The Ban
2. Contact your Member of Parliament & ask Canada to take action on the US travel ban
Check out this link to learn how!
3. Donate to organizations like Planned Parenthood and the ACLU
You can do this from Canada if you’re able!
4. Volunteer for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association
They are looking for people to help!
5. Keep in check with the Women’s March on Washington 10 Actions/100 Days list
6. Attend the DTES Annual Women’s Memorial March on February 14th
7. Lend your support to local Vancouver organizations like Black Lives Matter Vancouver, No One Is Illegal – Vancouver Unceded Coast Salish Territories, and the Vancouver Women’s Health Collective
There are so many more organizations than just these. Make sure to research more!
Best of luck fighting the good fight, UBC!
