Nathan Adrian is this week’s campus celebrity. Not only a Cal Alum, having graduated in Spring 2012 as a Public Health major, Adrian is also a three-time Olympic gold medalist who currently holds the American record in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle (short course) events.
Adrian began swimming at age 5 because his siblings swam. Adrian then swam for his high school, Bremerton High, and continued on to swim for Cal. Adrian is a 5 time individual NCAA champion at Cal.
Many students get very excited to see Adrian around campus. Now that he has graduated, hope is not lost! Adrian can still be seen around Berkeley, hitting up various restaurants such as Café Durant. Who knows, maybe next time you’re eating you’ll spot a 6’7”, 5 time individual NCAA champion eating right next to you!
