FIVE IDEAS FOR BOARD NIGHT WITH YOUR FRIENDS

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

Recently social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook have been overflowing with unique ideas for fun gatherings with your closest friends. Whether it’s a terrifying game of Photo Roulette or another hilarious Powerpoint night, one TikTok trend, “Board Night,” is a perfect addition to any of these activities. Here are five creative and delicious boards to up your charcuterie board game.

1. Crumbl Cookie Board

This board is definitely for the friend who can never plan ahead to get to a store. One stop to the nearest Crumbl cookie store and your board has practically made itself. If you have time to get fancy you can cut the cookies into slices and then reassemble them into circles using a slice from each cookie.

2. French Fry Board

Maybe you love waffle fries but all your BFFs love shoestrings. Or maybe you are constantly caught between choosing sweet potato or curly fries. Luckily, with a french fry board, no one misses out on their favorite way to deep fry a potato! (You’ll also realize just how many different types of french fries Americans have invented.)

3. Red Themed Board

Can’t decide what type of food to include on your board? Why not just choose anything in the color red! Red velvet cookies, raspberries, strawberries, spicy hot cheetos, prosciutto, tomato soup, just to name a few. This theme can really be done in any other color you can think of, however, other easy colors to choose from are green and orange.

4. Trader Joe Cookie Aisle Board

When else can you justify buying the Cat Cookies, Joe-Joe’s and Pinks and Whites all in one trip? Creating this board is a great way to splurge on all your favorite cookies from Trader Joes without feeling guilty. Of course, all of their biscottis and types of Dunkaroos can also be included within the scope of the board!

5. Rachel’s Thanksgiving Trifle

Rachel’s dessert trifle blunder in Season Six’s Thanksgiving episode of Friends was an iconic moment in the show! She misreads the directions to accidentally include ground beef and peas in between layers of ladyfingers, custard, and banana. This board is a fun recreation of the dish she made, in a way that makes it both actually edible and perfectly in line with the spirit of board night and the tv show itself.
