5 REASSURING AFFIRMATIONS TO GO INTO MARCH

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

March is soon approaching, but we’re still fresh into the 2023 year so let’s remind ourselves of our worth and put positive energy into existence to help us thrive and complete our future goals. With college assignments piling up as a full-time student, going to work, and engaging in extracurricular activities, it’s necessary to step back, relax, and be cordial with my health to feel and be better. Nothing could be possible without putting my well-being first and remembering that I have the composure to get myself through it all. These are the five most helpful affirmations that stuck with me and kept me at a high potential, and I hope they can benefit you!

1. GET IT DONE TODAY OR IT WON’T BE PURSUED TOMORROW

Previously, I lacked any incentive and got my tasks done at a later given date than the time I originally planned to complete them. Since then, I’ve been sluggish and unmotivated to finish what I started, which has taken a toll on my performance. I validate this form of thinking by being mindful of the aim or outcome; if I prioritize what I’ve started, I have a better guarantee of having one less objective to stress over.

2. PERMIT YOURSELF TO THE INSTANT GRATIFICATIONS

It’s often discussed that small fulfillments aren’t worth the cost, time, or effort because it doesn’t last long, however, this varies for each individual. Simply put, I find that buying an iced coffee, going window shopping, or grabbing a quick bite doesn’t define instant gratification or what others judge of these activities. Rather, it means a lot, and will relish the happiness that something gave me. Do what makes you happy, because who is to contradict what you do with your peace!

3. LESS THAN PERFECT IS A BOUND, BUT PROGRESS IS STILL AHEAD RAther THAN BEHIND

Blaming myself for not making the best of what I wanted to do or how far I wanted to go only warrants self-guilt. No matter what, I will take pride in the progress I attempted and persevered in. I foresee that my goal is closer ahead; one step back is a pause to take two or three steps forward!

4. MY IMPERFECTIONS MAKE ME JUST RIGHT

I began making clean eating, going to the gym, and drinking water a habit to build on. However, I expect this routine to be a practice I can’t commit to 100% from the start. Being imperfect is a rationale I welcome with open arms because I want room for growth and opportunities. My “flaws” are spots of individuality and humanize my character just right, whereas I couldn’t be the same without them.

5. I FIND COMFORT IN LOVING MYSELF UNCONDITIONALLY

The greatest gift from pursuing well-being is casually loving myself to the fullest. I aspire to keep this mentality to be proud, be down to earth, and form this love even stronger. I am valid, mature, and logical in how I think and act, for without it will lessen my capability to love myself without hesitation or explanation. I will be the person I’ve dreamed of.
