Although California doesn’t experience the change in seasons the way other parts of the United States do, the arrival of fall still calls for celebration. Get ready to light some scented candles, carve pumpkins and best of all, make any of the fall recipes featured below.

First up are these frosted chai snickerdoodles from Sally’s Baking Recipes. If you’re a fan of snickerdoodles, chai latte or both, then these cookies are perfect for you. Similar to traditional snickerdoodles, these cookies also feature ginger, cardamom and allspice to create their distinct chai flavor. While you can certainly make just the cookies, the recipe also includes instructions for a creamy, homemade vanilla frosting that takes them to the next level.

Next up is a recipe ideal for chocolate and fall fans alike: marbled chocolate pumpkin bread. Imagine your favorite pumpkin bread – warm, spiced and soft – and add swirls of rich chocolate dispersed throughout. With only fifteen minutes of prep time, this is an easy recipe to whip up for your upcoming fall festivities or as a weekend breakfast treat.

If you have more time on your hands, then try this recipe for homemade apple cider. It involves simmering sugar, spice and of course apples, for 3 hours on the stove. This might seem like a lot, but most of it isn’t active time- so put on your favorite fall movie or playlist and relax while the smell of apples and cinnamon slowly fills your home.

This last recipe is also a blend of apples and spices- but in cake form. If you’re looking for a grand centerpiece for a party, then make this apple cake with brown sugar buttercream. It combines a soft cake flavored with spices and apple butter and a creamy, molasses-flavored buttercream for a bite that’s sure to impress your guests. It does involve a higher time commitment than the other recipes on this list, but the result is well worth it.

Whether you make these recipes for a small get-together, a large fall party or just for you, they’re a great way to get into the fall spirit and enjoy sweet treats at the same time.

Happy baking!
