Honeyberry Opens Berkeley Location on Telegraph

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

South Bay fans of Honeyberry, get excited! The franchise has opened a new location on Telegraph Avenue, across from Tako Sushi and Fat Slice.  And for those of you wondering what Honeyberry is, I’d recommend you stop by, especially if you have a sweet tooth.

As you approach the store from any direction, you will get a whiff of Honeyberry’s famous Roti Buns – soft, fluffy bread rolls covered in a crispy mocha-flavored coating, some with little pockets of cream cheese or sweet butter.  You can get a pretty sweet deal if you order a Roti Bun with a milk tea, which comes in several different flavors ranging from the regular black and Thai milk tea to honeydew and taro flavors.  Included in the price is a self-serve boba buffet, which eliminates those frustrating occasions elsewhere, when you pay extra for boba and literally only get ten pearls.

Honeyberry also features several other desserts, including smoothies, gelato, self-serve frozen yogurt, and snow cups (Koreans may know it as bingsoo), along with various coffee-based drinks.  The store itself is clean and brightly lit, and a great place to have a leisurely chat with friends over Roti Buns and coffee.

The cafe during the unpredictable rush hours will get pretty loud, so don’t expect to get any work done here.  Sometimes it’s evident that this location has only been open for a month and has some kinks to work out; the still-learning staff sometimes struggle to keep up during rush hours, and some of the more complicated desserts take several minutes to be made. But overall, there’s so many options to try out, you’re sure to find something that’ll keep you coming back again and again.Â
