As a college student, there may be times in which it is challenging to find the time to focus on yourself. There is always something that needs to be done or a meeting that is taking place. Nonetheless, it is important that we place our well-being before anything else. By helping us to let go of our stress, finding the time to relax and to take care of ourselves is necessary to be happy. When it comes to self-care and de-stressing, face masks are only a small fraction of what should be done.

1) MindĀ

First things first, find time to meditate. Last semester, one of the classes that I took required me to meditate for five minutes five times each week. For those five minutes, I was able to forget about what was stressing me out. At the beginning, it was not easy to silence my mind. However, as the weeks went by, it became easier and I found it really useful. Let go of the negativity and hold on to the positive aspects of your life. Surround yourself with those whose company you truly enjoy.

2) Body

When there are various deadlines to meet, working out may seem like the least of our concerns. Taking the time to work out, whether it is completing five-minute stretches or a half-hour run, will not only help you destress, but is also great for your health. For anyone who does not work out often and wants to get into the habit of doing so, I would suggest finding a friend to go to the gym with and/or looking up some Youtube videos.

3) Skin

Make sure to take care of your skin by washing it daily. Look intoĀ finding some scents that you enjoy. A fun way to de-stress while taking caring of yourself would be to have a spa night with your friends. Have fun pampering yourself through manicures/pedicures and of course, face masks!
