With the recent global hype over the Ramen Burger, Berkeley now has its very own. On September 21, So Oishi, an Asian fusion restaurant located on 2428 Telegraph Avenue, held its grand opening, featuring various contests such as the “Large Ramen Bowl Contest”, the “Who can eat the most Sushi Burritos” contest and more. Emphasizing its Japanese ramen soup, ramen burger and sushi burrito, So Oishi has drawn many students to their restaurant to try out their creative dishes. So Oishi’s menu also features some appetizers such as gyoza or Japanese fries as well as other noodle dishes like Yaki Udon.
With numerous people trying out So Oishi, tudents and other customers have gone onto Yelp to express their opinions, both good and bad. The opinions appear extremely polar with some giving five stars, commenting on how great the food is whereas others gave as low as one star, commenting on how the food was not up to par.
With such opposite opinions, the only way to find out is to listen to others’ thoughts or to just try it out on one’s own.
