Autumn has officially begun! Although the beautiful weather in Irvine is no indication of the changing of seasons, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Fall in the OC. Here are just 5 ideas for you!
1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Nothing screams Fall more than pumpkins! Luckily for us, there are several pumpkin patches in the Irvine area open for visits. Tanaka Farms and Johnson Brothers Pumpkin Patch are the two nearest to our campus. You can pick out a pumpkin to carve at home, or simply head over with your friends, bring a camera, and have an Instagram photoshoot!
2. Have a Pumpkin Spice Latte
Since we are on the topic of pumpkins, most coffee shops have released a pumpkin spice latte on their menu for a limited time! This delicious drink can be ordered iced, hot, or even as a frappuccino! If you decide to head over to Starbucks, make sure to download their app to earn rewards!
3. Halloween Time at Disneyland
Disneyland Resort is only 16 miles away from UCI, and this time of year is a great time to visit! Halloween Time at Disneyland means the park is decorated with spooky decorations, characters of the park are wearing halloween costumes, and seasonal treats are available for a limited time! If you are an annual pass holder, make sure to check your pass’ blockout dates when planning your next visit.
4. Universal Studios Horror Nights or Knott’s Scary Farm
If you prefer to visit a theme park with more Halloween Thrills, Universal Studios and Knotts Berry Farm are the way to go! ASUCI sells discounted tickets for students year round, and just released ticket prices for Horror Nights and Knott’s Scary Farm. Head over to their website to look at your options!
5. Watch a scary movie
This time of year means that scary movies are being released in theaters, and more thriller options are available to stream online. Plan a movie night at home, or go out to the movie theaters (don’t forget to bring your student ID for a discounted ticket)! And if scary movies aren’t your cup of tea, there’s nothing wrong with watching classics like Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
