Welcome to the very first cooking with Nar! Recently I’ve gained a strong passion for cooking and now I want to share my favorite recipes with all of you! I have a MAJOR sweet tooth that just won’t quit, so luckily I found a healthier way to satisfy it. I have collected some of my favorite recipes as well as creating my own (ooey gooey bars). Here are a few of my favorite healthy-ish desserts. Bon appĂ©tit.

OOEY GOOEY BARS:

Ingredients you will need:

â…“ cup vegetable oil

2 cups of oats

3 ripe bananas

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

ÂĽ cup Almond milk (not necessary but I add it in mine because it tastes so good and makes the consistency more gooey. Hence, ooey gooey bars)

Directions:

  • In a medium bowl, peel and mash the bananas until smooth. Make sure there are no lumps left.

  • Mix in the oats, cinnamon, vanilla extract, oil (and almond milk if you’re using it).

  • Scoop onto the baking tray one by one.

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees

I truly hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I also hope my friends and  family aren’t lying to me when they say they taste like “little drops of heaven.”

DARK CHOCOLATE AVOCADO MOUSSE:

Ingredients you will need:

2 medium-sized, ripe avocados

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/3 cup honey

1/2 cup milk (dairy, almond, or other nut-based)

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

  • In a food processor, combine all ingredients and process until silky smooth and creamy, about 3 to 4 minutes, scraping the side of the machine once or twice, as needed.

  • Spoon into bowls, cover, and refrigerate until cold before serving.

  • Mousse will keep, covered and refrigerated, for up to three days.

This is the perfect replacement for chocolate lovers like me.

BAKED GRAPEFRUIT WITH CINNAMON AND BROWN SUGAR:

Ingredients you will need:

1 grapefruit

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon

Honey

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

  • Slice the grapefruit in half. Use a knife to cut along the individual segments of the grapefruit halves. Sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon.

  • Place them on a baking sheet and roast for 20-25 minutes.

  • Remove the grapefruit from the oven and drizzle with honey.

If you’re feeling frisky you can add a scoop of greek yogurt on top. It makes it all the better.
