Every girl knows and loves their little black dress, but does not want to buy one for every occasion. Here are some simple tips on how to dress up one simple black dress to create four different looks.

Shopping

When you are about to go out for a day of shopping, what better way to brighten up your LBD than with a pop of color? Pick a bright neon belt and cinch the waist for a more flattering waistline and complement it with a pair of equally vivid sandals. Since the belt is such a statement piece, avoid competing elements by ditching the necklace and throwing on a few rings for some added color. Opt for a nude tote to tone down the overall look.

Date Night

To cover up your little black dress, pair it with a light pink or neutral-colored oversized blazer. Choose a statement necklace to accessorize and to add some more color. Show off those legs with a pair off nude closed toe pumps for a classy look, or some peep-toe pumps for an edgier look. Grab a clutch with complementary colors to complete outfit. Here I chose a black and nude one with maroon accents.

Work

To make your LBD work-appropriate without appearing too dressy, opt for a simple cardigan in a neutral color like grey. Since it is work, do not choose any statement jewelry, for that can look too casual. Instead, choose a simple, yet elegant necklace, a watch, and some stud earrings. Pair this outfit with low heeled black pumps with an ankle strap for extra support. To brighten up this look while still looking professional, add color through your bag. Here this outfit is paired with a fuchsia purse.

School

When going to school, especially in college, people tend to think that wearing a dress is too fancy. However, you can make your dress look more casual by throwing on an oversized coat and a slouchy scarf. Cute boot socks and flat black boots complete this look, making it a cozy ensemble. Grab your schoolbag and out the door you go!

All you need is one little black dress for every occasion. It saves money and you are still able to look your best!
