What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Effervescent, halcyon, and passionate.
How do you express your personality?
I express my personality through my everyday attitude. I believe that even though I may be upset about my current situation or what not, I have the right to choose my attitude to wear for the day. I also like expressing myself through my hair and changing the color of my hair often. I like dolling up for class when I have the time, and I am not afraid to use different shades up lipstick. Anyone can pull off everything if you own it and have confidence in what you are wearing or putting on. Plus if you feel you look good, you will feel good.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
When I have the luck of not having anything to do or finish, I like shopping. However, when I don’t have money, I love dancing and just snooping around for new music to add to my iPod. I’m always up to listening to new things, and friends are the best outlets for gathering new beats and hymns. It would not be surprising if you also catch me watching a sunset every now and then. It’s a great natural stress reliever that really clears my conscious whenever I feel stressed
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could anywhere in the world I would go to Brazil. I love dancing, so being able to see Brazilian dancers doing the Samba at the “Carnival” would honestly be so amazing. I also love the Brazilian culture and I could definitely see myself chilling at the beaches in Rio, shopping in Sao Pablo, and exploring the Amazon.
Favorite season?
My favorite season is Spring, because Springtime evokes everything that I love such as flowers and nature, and conveys the symbolism of a new beginning. I love spring because it’s the in between season of winter and summer you get the best of both worlds, weather wise. Spring has the three “S’s” scarves, sandals, and shorts. I can still wear scarves, and start wearing my sandals and shorts.
Top three songs of the moment for you?
Without Your Love by Ellie Goulding
Cherry Wine by Nas featuring Amy Whinehouse
Bandz A Make Her Dance by Juicy J.
Where is your favorite place in Riverside to go?
My favorite place in Riverside is the Plaza near Tyler. It has a big three story Forever 21, a theater, cool places to eat, and it’s real close to the Galleria. I think I go there once a month, or at least whenever I get paid.
One thing you wish you knew as a First year?
I wish I knew how to get more involved on campus. I am very involved now, but I could have been more in touch with my campus back then and been part of organizations.
How are you involved?
Apart from being apart of my organizations, USEU, Peer Mentor for CSP, I like checking out the nooners at the Belltower. When I can I like chilling at the HUB, or taking pictures at the UCR sign. I keep it simple and fun.
Is there anything you wish you could change about UCR or the campus?
I wish I could change would be all the blackboards to whiteboards on campus. I was surprised when I first came here that we still used chalk on campus. Also, add solar panels everywhere and create a small garden around the Belltower.
What do you find attractive in a guy?
In a guy, the thing that I find most attractive is honesty. Nowadays, it’s hard to find someone who is “real” and I admire someone who can be straight forward genuinely. Physically, I like height, smiles, longish hair, and biceps. But hey, who doesn’t like eye candy.
What don’t you find attractive in a guy?
I don’t find cockiness attractive in a guy, I like confidence but appreciate modesty. Also, I don’t like a guy who has bad hygiene.
Top three celebrity men?
Beau Mirchoff, Alex Petttyfer, and Frank Ocean.
Who do you want to see at Heat this year?
Frank Ocean and Ellie Goulding. If we could have Two Chainz and Calvin Harris that would be tight too.
Favorite quote?
By J.K. Rowling, “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
Plans for the future?
Join the Peace Corps, make a difference in the world, go to grad school, then make a difference here in the United States. My ultimate plan is to be happy and blessed wherever life takes me.
If you had to write a memoir, what would you title it?
This is funny because I do plan to write a memoir looking back at my life when I am much older. I think I would title it something like “My Life As Alex” or “Galactic Memories on Earth” or “The Thoughts and Vie of a Thuggiebear.”
