It’s December! Which means it’s time to cozy up and watch some iconic movies to get in the holiday spirit. Grab a cup of cocoa, bake some cookies, and watch one–or all– of these Christmas favorites!

Starting the list off with the classic Christmas comedy, Elf (2003)! No movie captures the excitement of Christmas quite like this quintessential movie. With Will Farrel as our beloved Buddy the elf, this movie is filled with laughs and an all around heartwarming story for people of all ages!

The Santa Clause (1994) is just one of those childhood movies that shapes holiday experiences for years to come. The film stars Tim Allen as Scott, a single dad who accidentally killed a man in a Santa suit and is tasked with saving Christmas. With three movies and a brand new series on Disney+, there is plenty of holiday cheer to go around in this nostalgic series!

The Holiday (2006) is one of many 2000’s movies with a certain magic that allows it to gracefully dance on the line between nostalgia and romance without it being too cheesy. Although the movie is set around the holidays, the story is one of love and kindness, a theme appropriate all year around. The movie stars Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, and Jack Black and is one of my personal favorites on this list!

Home Alone (1990) is yet another classic that the holiday season would be incomplete without! A young Macaulay Culkin captures the hearts of audiences–despite a pattern of him being left out by his family– as a slightly mischievous and quick-witted boy who faces a pair of clumsy and unorganized thieves. Home Alone is the ultimate nostalgic Christmas movie!

What better way to close the list of holiday favorites than with a feel-good movie, Love Actually (2003). The movie offers different perspectives on the same season, capturing how, although our lives get hectic and complicated, people are more similar than we think. With multiple plot points coming together, a great ensemble cast, and a beautiful story, what’s not to love!
