If you’re staying on campus or near campus like me, and don’t feel like cooking, there are some good spots in the area that you need to try. I like eating at McDonald’s or Taco Bell because it is convenient however it can get tiring. Here are some places that you can try to switch up your meals! It takes no longer than 15 minutes to drive therefore making it a short drive as well.

Ahi Poke 3540 Riverside Plaza Dr, 92506

If you love raw fish like I do, this poke place is delicious. It is fresh, the portion fills you up, and they sell ice cream as well! I’ve had a few poke places near campus but this turned out to be the best tasting one.

Punjabi Palace 1766 University Ave, 92507

Feeling like having a curry night? This Indian restaurant is known for their Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas. The portion is family size which means it is shareable with two people. The curries come with rice which is a bonus, and you have to try the garlic naan! It has so much flavor and goes well with the curry. It is also a mile away from campus which is very close.

Monty’s Good Burger 3605 Market St, 92501

Don’t eat meat? No problem, there’s a vegan burger spot called Monty’s Good Burger. The menu has different options of vegan burgers to choose from along with yummy sides like tater tots or fries. If you’re not feeling a burger, they also have salads as well. Not only do they offer vegan option burgers but they also offer desserts such as shakes, floats, and cookies. Whether you are vegan or not, this place is worth the try.

Dhat Creole Grill 3605 Market St, 92501

Another great place next to Monty’s Good Burger is Jamaican food. They are known for their beignets, chicken, and waffles, and bourbon and jerk chicken plate. There are many options for the plates such as shrimp, seafood, or chicken. Their dish is packed with so much flavor that will leave you wanting more.

Taco Station 4088 Mission Inn Ave, 92501

You can never say no to taco night. This spot is very cute outside with a cars themed decor. The beer-battered fish tacos are crispy, packed with flavor, and are very light. The tacos and burritos are good portions that will have you full. The place itself is affordable and is very clean for an outside area.

If you get tired of eating the same thing and want to switch it up, try one of these food spots that are near you! The flavor and prices will leave you coming back for more.
