The spooks and scares just wrapped up this past Thursday as Halloween 2013 came to a close. But that just means that one of the best times of the year is right around the cornerâŠ. HOLIDAY MOVIE RELEASES (well besides Christmas of course). Below is a list of some great movies coming soon to a theater near you!
Thor: The Dark World
The sequel to the hit blockbuster, Thor: The Dark World, reunites it original cast as Loki is up to no good once again. Itâs sure to be a good one with this production being directed by Alan Tyler, the man behind the HBO Television Show “Game of Thrones”. The film is due out November 8. (Lucky for UCR students, UCRâs ASPB will be hosting a free film premiere for Thor: The Dark World so donât miss out!)
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
There is so much buzz built around this sequel that itâs sure to be a big hit at the box office opening weekend. Even if you havenât read the books, you will still have a hard time deciding if you are Team Peeta or Team Gale. The film is to be released. November 22. (ASPB will also be hosting a free premiere event for this film, so be on the lookout for more info).
Frozen
From the creators of  Tangle and Wreck-it-Ralph, comes a tale of a girl named Anna who journeys through âfrozenâ conditions as she searches for her sister Elsa, whose powers have left the kingdom in an eternal winter. Starring the vocal talents of Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, Idina Menzel and Alan Tudyk, Frozen will be a great film to watch for all ages. Frozen will be released November 29.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
The long overdue sequel brings back some of the biggest names in comedy under one newsroom. This time Ron Burgundy takes on the first 24-hour news channel in New York City. Although sequels of big comedies tend to disappoint, with a cast like Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, and Steve Carrell, I doubt this will be the case. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is set to be released December 20th.
