Spring is finally here and with it comes the impending heat of summer with the cool winds of California breezing by. Here are my top 5 Spring Makeup Essentials to beat the heat while keeping that dewy finish.
- Gripping Primer
-
A primer that will stick to your face while giving you that glow and bounce on your skin is a must. For baddies on a budget, ELF Cosmetics Jelly Pop Primer or Mint Melt Cooling Primer are only $8-10 and last all day long. For our gals who want to splurge, the MILK Hydro Grip Primer is a classic for a glowy-lasting finish for $16.Â
- Cream Blush
-
Cream blush is a personal favorite because of how easy it is to apply and the variety of pigments. For my baddies on a budget, ELF takes the cake again with their Putty Blush for only $6. With 8 shades, the cream blush can be applied with your fingers or a brush and complement both natural and bold makeup looks that Spring brings. For my gals that want a splurge, Glossier Cloud Paint has been a fan favorite for a while at $18 and Selena Gomez came through with her liquid blush in September for $20 that blends beautifully with little application and 8 shades that offer either dewy or matte finishes.Â
- Dewy Foundation
-
Nothing beats having a foundation that is buildable and lightweight. For more of a full coverage look, the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter at $44 is beautiful. For a little bit more shade range, the Glossier SkinTint is around the same price and gives great coverage for a natural look. Finally, baddies on a budget can grab the dreamy Fit Me Foundation for $5-$7 or the Loreal Infallible for $11-$14 that have an amazing shade range and coverage at the drugstore.Â
- Eyebrow Gel
-
Fluffy brows or Soap brows are a huge trend right now and super affordable. The easiest way is to buy a $1 Pears Soap at your local dollar store and brush those brows up. For something more structured, Nyx Brow Glue has excellent reviews for that fluffed-up look for only $8.00.Â
- A Pop of Color
-
The most important step for spring – a pop of color! Spring brings pastels, monochrome fits and primary color galore so indulge in some fun colorful liners or bright eyeshadow. My favorite dark blue that gives brown eyes a pop is the ELF Liquid Liner in Midnight for $3.00. Another option for liner could be Colourpop BFF Liquid Liner that has 12 shades, each only $8.00. For eyeshadow, Amazon has a great deal for a vibrant palette that has 60 colors for only $16.88 called the Color Board.
Spring makeup is all about embracing your imagination and creativity through fun textures, colors, and patterns. Though these are the basics of the variety of makeup you can use, the essentials will guarantee a fresh dewy face every time. Have fun with it!
