New Music To Look Forward To During Quarantine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Riverside chapter.

New music is dropping this week which makes this quarantine less boring! You can do at home workouts, do your makeup while listening to the new music, learn Tik-Tok dances, literally just sit back and enjoy the culture. There are many artists that I am excited for especially when it comes to Hip-Hop (my favorite genre) but also a lot of other great genres as well.

Playboi Carti

It’s been two years since his last album “Die Lit” from 2018. He returns with a single called “@ MEH” as a teaser for his new album that is dropping this week. If you’re reading this, it is probably on all streaming platforms by now. His music is centered around rap but has a unique style in making it fun, bouncy, and just gives everyone good vibes.

Kehlani

Kehlani has been a part of the R&B game for a while now and will be dropping a new single titled “Everybody Business.” She keeps it cool, calm, and collected but at the same time makes you want to sing your heart out.

21 Savage and Summer Walker

With a mix of hip-hop and R&B, these two artists are releasing a single titled “Secret.” I mean, who doesn’t like 21 Savage?

DaBaby

DaBaby is releasing an album that is called “Blame It On Baby.” He confirmed that there are other artists that are going to be featured in the album such as Future, Roddy Rich, Quavo, Megan Thee Stallion, NBA Youngboy, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Ashanti. Hearing these names, it’s for sure going to be FIRE.

Tory Lanez

The album “The New Toronto 3” has recently dropped so go give that a listen as well! Tory is a mix of rap and R&B which makes his music diverse and appealing to both genres. People also have been using his songs from his previous mixtape “Chixtape 5” on Tik Tok so you might be able to recognize his voice.

Although there is a whole lockdown going on, there is still new music that is being dropped and you can really take the time to just discover new music or new artists. Or, you can just vibe to them in your workouts, home, while doing homework, getting ready for the day, etc. Music is a creative outlet that is soothing for the ears and can have the power to get an individual going throughout their day.
