Midterm season is upon us, and it’s important to start studying ASAP. Instead of hitting up one of the on-campus study zones or trying to find a booth in the MU, avoid the crowds and head to one of these spaces in town.
Â
1. Pachamama Coffee
Located on 1st Street across from Whole foods, this is one of the coolest spots in Davis. Pachamama is connected to the John Natsoulas Gallery and offers premium organic coffee straight from family farmers in Africa and Latin America. They have free wifi and have ample study space in the café and in the gallery.
Â
2. Delta of Venus
With no sign out front, Delta of Venus can be easy to miss. This coffee shop, restaurant, and pub is on B Street. Their egg scrambles and potatoes are absolutely delicious. They supply free wifi and books to read in house if you’ve got a spare moment. Delta of Venus has many outside tables and colorful trim. Grab a table in the shade and start studying.
Â
3. The Greenbelt
Interestingly enough, Davis has ten greenbelts that intersect throughout the town. These greenbelts contain wide-open spaces of grass, often with paths for biking and running and playgrounds. Pack a snack and some reading materials to adventure into one of the greenbelts for an afternoon of peaceful studying. Also, keep your eyes open for fruit trees– the pomegranates and figs are in season!

4. Temple Coffee Roasters
Temple is based in Sacramento and has recently opened up a shop in Downtown Davis. They make coffee that’s handpicked from various locations across the globe. Their seating arrangement is geared toward solo ventures, which means you can enjoy quality coffee while getting solid work done.
