While many collegiettes identify with Tina Belcher from “Bob’s Burgers,” I personally find myself agreeing with Gene in more instances than one.
1. “Was it obvious that I don’t care?”
It’s 9 in the morning. You’re wearing your sweatpants and your tattered sneakers from the eighth grade. Then, some acquaintance has the audacity to come up to you and humble brag about their accomplishments. Not to be rude, but you just don’t care. You can’t. The caring part of the brain does not function until at least noon.
2. “My life is more difficult than anyone else’s on the planet, and YES, I’m including starving children, so DON’T ASK.”
Even though getting an education at an institution as fine as ours is clearly a great privilege, it is easy to think that a hailstorm of midterms is the greatest challenge than any human has ever encountered.
3. “This is me now!”
College is a wonderful period of self-discovery. This means that several versions of you will exist over your years. You’ll often felt like you have found the official version of you, but you haven’t.
4. “Watch out, glass ceiling!”
As a college gal, I’m always looking to be the best I can be and break barriers that have been put up for ladies! Just like Gene, I’m on a mission.
5. “There’s too much pressure to enjoy yourself.”
Honestly, if I’m having a bad day, I think about every adult who has told me that these are the best years of my life and I get so stressed that I must enjoy every second when I just want to marinate in a layer of salt, sweat, and tears.
6. “Why would I be horny? I’m not an antelope.”
This one goes out to all of those very aggressive peeps on the Tinder. (Also, I just really wanted to use this gif.)
7. “Camera, take the day off. I added ten pounds to myself!”
Thank you, Dining Commons!
