Indie-pendent Study: A Playlist to Boost Your Mood and Increase Your Productivity

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

It’s spring quarter. For many of us, this quarter marks the end of another school year. Look around: we’ve made it! We’re so close to being done – but not quite. I am here to help allay any sort of distress you may have about this. In other words, I made a playlist.

Indie music in particular encompasses both calming and mood-boosting effects, and this playlist is arranged so that each song’s energy builds off the other. Overall, there’s a range of moods and energies that are evoked here, altogether providing a perfect soundtrack to get you in “the zone” for studying and doing homework.

Note: These songs are by no means “new.” I’ve always been late to the party.

1. “Chocolate” – The 1975

2. “Land of Gathering” – The Ceremonies

3. “San Francisco” – The Mowgli’s

4. “Panic Cord” – Gabrielle Aplin

5. “Modern Nature” – Sondre Lerche

6. “Honeybee” – Steam Powered Giraffe

7. “Autumn Tree” – Milo Greene

8. “Winter” – Joshua Radin

9. “Amazing Eyes” – Good Old War

10. “The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us” – Sufjan Stevens

You can access the playlist on Spotify. Happy listening!
