In no way, shape, or form, am I an expert on manifestation, nor can I say that I’ve gone above and beyond to practice it. But, I’ve recently had a shift in mindset regarding the relationship between energy and achieving goals. This mindset being, “The energy we put out in the world is the energy we get back.” If you’re familiar with manifestation, you’re probably already thinking of the Law of Attraction, but I didn’t know that existed when I heard this. I held onto the idea of radiating the energy I want to attract in my life and channeling that energy through actions. Essentially, doing things that cultivate that happiness, success, kindness, etc.—whether it’s through self-care, gratitude journaling, being kind to yourself and others, working hard, or even simpler things like listening to some feel-good music. That last action is one of my favorites when I need a quick reminder of this and an energy booster, which is where Ariana Grande comes in.

In her latest album, Positions, she included a song about manifestation. It became my go-to song for those quick energy shifting reminders. After listening to this song, I realized how many of her other songs focused on manifestation. Not only have they been serving as energy boosters, but many of her lyrics also have helped me understand manifestation (I am still not an expert, though). So, I started building a playlist, and I wanted to share the first three Ari songs that made it into my playlist:

1. “just like magic”

My go-to, my anthem, and my favorite song from her album Positions. Her timeless self-love messages shine through lyrics such as, “Good karma, my aesthetic” and “Keep my conscience clear, that’s why I’m so magnetic.” She makes manifestation sound so easy that it only took hundreds of replays for me to say, “Wait a minute, Ari might be onto something here…” and realize that it can be that simple.

2. “successful”

This song is a success-tribute to women that celebrates and expresses happiness over achieving a successful life. What I enjoy about Grande’s lyrics in her songs is the fact that she is direct. She doesn’t shy away from bragging about her success with the line, “It feels so good to be so young and have this fun and be successful / I’m so successful.” She also reminds you, dear listener, “you too, you are so young and beautiful and so successful.”

3. “7 rings”

I will be honest as a college student who is not a famous pop star with loads of money – it is not easy to connect with this song. Still, it is fun to sing along and give myself “I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it” vibes because those lyrics are what manifestation is. Visualize what you want (I see it), hold onto the feelings of what it would be like when you manifest it (I like it), say/do whatever is necessary (I want it), and achieve it (I got it).

I don’t know if I’d say I’m very into manifestation or that I’m Ariana Grande’s biggest fan. I will say that ever since I’ve had this mindset and energy shift, I have been achieving my goals and visualizations quite frequently and with greater ease. Plus, I enjoy Ariana Grande’s music and she’s manifested a lot of positivity for herself. So, why not bring both together? Give me all the good vibes – music and energy-wise.
