Spring is here! And sadly so are midterms. If you feel like your motivation is dwindling since summer is around the corner (like me I’m afraid), I’m here to rectify this with a classical music spring playlist! It contains joyous, lighthearted, and heart sweeping melodies perfect for Spring. Why be bored while studying when you can feel like a fairy princess?

Here’s my playlist that I’ve curated. Happy studying!

  1. “Waltz of the Flowers” by Tchaikovsky

What really makes this piece is the harp, which sings so beautifully throughout.

  1. “The Four Seasons: Spring” by Vivaldi
  2. “Spring Sonata” by Beethoven
  3. “Aeolian Harp” Etude by Chopin

SO BEAUTIFUL.

  1. “Sleeping Beauty Waltz” by Tchaikovsky

A familiar piece of music if you’ve ever watched Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. You’ll hear this piece as background to the song “Once Upon a Dream.”

  1. “Golden Hour (Cello Version)” by JVKE

From the song arises this piece. This piece sounds like it would be played in Netflix’s Bridgerton. So romantic and full of hope.

  1. “Afternoon of a Faun” by Debussy
  2. “Liebestraum No.3” by Franz Liszt

I like to pretend I’m a princess hopelessly in love with a mysterious man I danced with at a ball when I listen to this piece.

  1. “The Secret Life of Daydreams” by Dario Marianelli

If you’ve ever watched Pride & Prejudice (the one with the gorgeous Matthew Macfayden) this piece will whisk you way to Regency England and make you feel like a Jane Austen heroine.

  1. “Arabesque No.1” by Debussy

Perfect daydreaming, oh I mean studying music.

  1. “Lavender Fields” by Stephan Moccio

This is a beautiful, relaxing modern piano piece that makes one reminisce about the past while looking to the future.

  1. “Impromptu Op.90 No.2 and No.3” by Schubert
  2.  “Scenes from Childhood Op.15 No.1” (of foreign lands and people) by Schumann

Really makes you yearn for your childhood and which especially hits hard while at college.

  1. “Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture IX” by Tchaikovsky

Literally one of the most romantic pieces of music I’ve ever listened to.

  1. “A Town with an Ocean View” by Joe Hisaishi

This piece is from one of my absolute favorite movies of all time, Kiki’s Delivery Service. If you haven’t watched it, what are you doing? Go and watch it!

  1. “The Village in May” by Joe Hisaishi

Another absolutely nostalgic piece composed by Hisaishi for the movie Totoro. It’s so merry and joyous–the epitome of spring.

  1. “Un Sospiro in D-Flat Major” by Franz Liszt

Such a heart wrenching, dramatic piece perfect for writing (to get those emotions flowing).

  1. “Minute Waltz” by Chopin

Such a catchy melody that you’ll want to dance to.

  1. “Andante Spianato et Grande Polonaise Brillante” by Chopin

Absolutely hypnotic.

  1. “The Voices of Spring Waltz” by Johann Strauss
  2. “The Flower Garden” by Joe Hisaishi
  3. “Blue Danube” by Johann Strauss
Daphne and Simon from Bridgerton
Shondaland / Netflix
  1. “La Valse” by Maurice Ravel

Ugh I wish we still held balls today so I can waltz the night away as if I was a princess. I guess “The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience” exists, but it’s not the same.
