There are a few things that I will always be thankful for: God, my family, and my time at Davis. I already miss a lot about Davis, and it is both humbling and heartwarming to know that I had the opportunity and ability to spend 4 years on this amazing campus. Here’s a small list of the things I miss:
Freshman Year:
– The MSA was the highlight of my entire college experience, Alhamdolilah
– I cooked with my housemates and had late-night shenanigans
– We all took quizzes together and had mental breakdowns over last-minute essay submissions
– I spent quality time with my friends and saw classmates around campus
– I took a summer course and learned 2 piano pieces, currently learning the 3rd
– I went on several trips including: LA & SF
Sophomore Year:
– I tried waking up at 5am, but actually woke up at 5:30am to get ready for my 6:45am shift
– That one quarter that I had to wake up at 5am and Uber to campus and then catch the shuttle to go to the UCDMC
– I launched CocoBerries and got a bunch of positive feedback that motivated me to became an undergraduate learning assistant with Professor Caporale in the NPB Department
– I learned Turkish and practiced more piano
– I got featured on the CalAggie, thanks to Sania! And also on the Humans of Davis page!
– I got a position at the PSI CHI Honor Society, but sadly turned it down because I got another paid job (I need to say alhamolilah after every sentence now)
– My amazing housemates: Linda, Janette, and Abha! Miss you guys!
Junior Year:
– I woke up at 8am for classes and biked in the cold when barely anyone was out
– I took an aerobics class at 10am and ran late to work
– I moved to different apartments and lived with different people
– I took late night trips with friends (I wish I had a video; Roxanne and I saw some hilarious cards while shopping for a present that day and we couldn’t stop laughing)
– I ran the 5K with my co-workers and realized how out of shape I was (not even gonna deny it)
– I had Ramadan nights at the masjid and Habiba came over
Senior Year:
– I worked in the summer to save up for winter break trip
– I watched the sunset in the parking structure
– I did research, am interning for HerCampus, joined BMP, and worked at the ARC all while taking classes.
– I went to Ziyara for winter break
To all the laughs, the memories, the great friends and co-workers, the deep conversations, the good, the bad… everything was worth it. Now onto the next chapter.
