If you are looking to network with UCF alumni and get involved with a new group on campus, we may have the perfect organization for you. 4EVER KNIGHTS is a group of students who serve as liaisons between current UCF students and UCF alumni. They work closely with the UCF Alumni Association and are extremely involved throughout the UCF community.
4EVER KNIGHTS ambassadors are required to fulfill the following:
– Attend mandatory events in the fall and spring
– Attend bi-weekly meetings (Thursdays at 5 p.m.)
– Complete a minimum of 50 hours/semester in events and office time
– Participate on organization committees
– Pay dues
The recruitment process for 4EVER KNIGHTS has already gotten started. Here are some important dates for interested candidates:
– Mar. 1: Ambassador application becomes available
– Mar. 13 @ noon: Ambassador information session (Student Union 218B)
– Mar. 18 @ 6 p.m.: Ambassador information session (Fairwinds Alumni Center)
– Mar 20. : Application closes
– Mar. 22 @ noon: Candidate mixer (Lake Claire)
– Mar. 27-29: Candidate interviews
I got the opportunity to speak with the 4EVER KNIGHTS recruitment chair, Morgan Quesinberry. She was able to clue me in on what exactly this group is all about and share some of her personal experiences. Take a look!
How long have you been apart of 4EVER KNIGHTS? And what does your position entail?
This is my second year as a 4EVER Knights Ambassador and first year as an Officer. As an ambassador I work prestigious alumni events, help coordinate and administer student events like Movie Knight Out, and act as a liaison between students and the alumni association. The Officers are able to oversee various committees, promote leadership and development among members, and be an active voice in various structural and organizational decisions.
What activities do members of this organization participate in regularly?
4EVER KNIGHTS members are our general student body alumni association and they are able to take part in any of our events, social events like Movie Knight Out or networking events like Knights of Legend. They can join us as we participate in Homecoming and Relay for Life as well. Ambassadors are able to participate in more activities such as our Board Mentor Program where ambassadors are paired with an Alumni Board Member to help with growth and professional development.
What benefits do members receive?
Member receive a variety of benefits like discounts on campus at Smoothie King, Subway, and the Bookstore and discounts off campus at Qdoba, CB&S and Stonybrook Golf. We also have giveaways throughout the semester like midterm goodie bags; we have given out concert tickets, as well as admission to on-campus and alumni association events, like the alumni tailgates. Plus, you can come to the alumni center and get two scantrons every day!
What has been your favorite part of being a part of this organization?
My favorite part of being a 4EVER Knights Ambassador is being able to interact and connect with alumni. It’s incredibly interesting to me to see where they came from and what they are doing now. UCF has educated a vast amount of prestigious and well successful alumni. Meeting with them and networking has to be one of my favorite parts. We hold events with YAC (Young Alumni Chapter) around UCF where we play UCF trivia and socialize. It’s fun to learn the history of UCF from YAC and they are always interested to see what is going on with UCF now!
