If you are one of the few college girls who don’t use Pinterest, then you are depriving yourself from the next social media platform craze. In fact, Pinterest drives more traffic than Google+, Youtube, and LinkedIn combined. So what exactly is Pinterest? Pinterest is like a virtual reality where we can have any clothes we want, be anywhere in the world, and create our dream home all in the comfort of our own, not nearly as luxurious, home. The typical time spent on Pinterest goes along the lines of, “Wow, so cute!” and then you click the “Pin it” button and never look back. But how about actually trying to make some of those creations that you see on Pinterest and that you fall in love with for your own home? Think it looks too hard? Nonsense. Here are my top five favorite Pinterest creations and how you can turn your room from drab to fab!
1. Light Bulb Vase
These adorable flower vases are perfect for hanging by the window. And to think, all it takes to create something so unique is just a few light bulbs! To make this, simply find a burned out light bulb, take out the wire, turn it over, add some water and flowers, and voila! You will have something that no one else has.
2. Suitcase Side Table
Who doesn’t love a good side table? Skip those pricey and the not-so original tables at IKEA and make your own! Just head over to your local antique store and pick up a few vintage suitcases to stack as a table. And the final touch? Use an old mirror, as shown here, to place on top so you will have the perfect spot for all your drinks, lamps, and more!
3. Frame Jewelry Organizer
Have too much jewelry? You’re a girl, of course you do. So instead of shoving all of your pieces into a drawer, flaunt them with this frame that’s perfect for the wall! All you need is a large, empty frame and some window screen. Then you just staple it onto the frame, and you’re all set to hang your earrings!
4. Old Drawers Lined with Floral Wallpaper
We all love having storage space. So why not get yours in style? To achieve this perfect creation, all you need are a few empty drawers from a garage sale or antique store, and a few different small rolls of wallpaper. Then paste the wallpapers into the drawers and hang your drawer on the wall as seen above. Trust me, your room will thank you.
5. Tree Frame
Love family pictures but have nowhere to put them? Well, it’s time to solve that. To get this look you just need a large tree decal for the wall (Target has some!) and a bunch of frames. Then hang your pictures on the branches of the tree, and you have made that box of old pictures a little lighter!
Happy pinning!
