So here’s what you missed at KD Shakedown 2013.  It was quite the throwback with music and attire straight from the golden years of the 90’s. The Ladies of Kappa Delta raised over 10,000 school supplies for Preventing Child Abuse America with help from all organizations that participated in the event.  23 organizations competed in KD Shakedown in hopes of becoming the overall winner.  Along with participation from the Greek community, there were also performances from multiple dance organizations as well as the UCF Rugby team.  If you were one of the unfortunate souls who missed this entertaining event, luckily Knight News has got the hook up on recaps of each organization.

Kappa Delta’s performance was definitily a true #tbt. The ladies shook what their mamas gave them to an oldie-but-goodie arrangement including Fresh Prince, Missy Elliot and an imitation of the famious “Carlton.”  The ladies of Kappa Delta definitely pumped up the audience with their blast from the past.

The overall winner of the night, Alpha Xi Delta, are commended for their large donations to Prevent Child Abuse America and completely orginal and creative dance.  The ladies’ dance consisted of multiple iconic movie sound bits including E.T., White Chicks, the Great Gatsby and everyone’s favorite.. Mean Girls; followed by today’s popular hits.

First place for fraternities went to the gentlemen of Phi Delta Theta as they told a story of “rags to riches” through tons of booty shaking, of course.  The performace was heavy on the surprise element with a breakdancing solo, a human necklace illusion to 2 Chainz and an appearace of a brother in a, uhhh, slinky man-thong.

The ladies of Zeta Tau Apha worked themselves right into first place.  With a theme like “work” how could the crowd not be pumped?  The ladies demanded attention to the stage, and all their hard work paid off after being awarded first place.

The gentlemen of Kappa Sigma were completely “hood” as they crumped their way into second place!  Wearing mime-esque gloves and, uhh, shirtless a majority of the time left the crowd going crazy for more.

The sisters of Alpha Delta Pi may be bad but their perfectly good at.  The ladies’ performance was a tribute to Rihanna.  The routine was both sharp and sensual.  Fitting for their sign, they shined bright like a diamond.

The gentlemen of Beta Theta Pi wopped their way right into third place.  The brothers came out full force in support of Kappa Delta and demanding all attention on stage as they shook what their mamas gave them.

Not only did these ladies win third place, they aslo won most donated school supplies for Prevent Child Abuse America.  The sisters of  Delta Zeta were so Vogue as they shook their rumps in high fashion.  These ladies even had a red carpet strung across their stage, hello Gucci!
