There are two things we know the Kardashians and Jenners love: their family and making headlines.
On Monday, March 21, Kylie Jenner shared a very random but entertaining Instagram story with the news that her first son and second child, Wolf Webster, no longer has a name. “FYI,” Jenner writes, “our son’s name isn’t Wolf anymore…we just really didn’t feel like it was him.”
The news came right after Jenner posted a link to her YouTube video entitled “To Our Son” — a vlog dedicated to her second child. The video begins with a visual of Jenner’s positive pregnancy test, documenting her family’s reaction to the news. The vlog also features close-ups with other members of the Kardashian-Jenner family giving words of love and encouragement to Jenner and her son. And, of course, some sweet Stormi content.
The Kardashian family has always been a popular topic in the news, but recently it seems they’re more relevant than ever (Kanye, we’re looking at you). Not all publicity is good, though. Following the AstroWorld tragedy in November, many of the family members were silent on social media — even Kylie, pregnant with her son at the time. Since then, Jenner and her partner, Travis Scott, have remained pretty lowkey about their life as a family. “To Our Son” provides an inside look at the day-to-day life of the parents during this period of silence. We’ll also likely get more content when their upcoming documentary-reality show, The Kardashians, drops on Hulu.
Although she didn’t expand on the reason for his renaming, it’s clear that Jenner has bigger and better plans for her son. The Kardashian-Jenners are known for their unique names, with all of the sisters having names that begin with a K, and their babies often having untraditional names. After Kim’s firstborn, North, was born, the media couldn’t stop talking about it. Given their visionary parents, the rest of the Kardashian-West children’s names just make sense: Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. The only Kardashian who gave their children “normal” names is Kourtney, with her first two children being called Mason and Penelope.
It’s unclear whether Jenner’s son has already been given a new name or if they’re still testing the waters on his new identity. Knowing the Kardashian clan, they could be waiting to announce it through a social media reveal. Kylie Jenner is the most followed woman on Instagram, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we learn her son’s new name via Instagram post. We know how they love to break the Internet!
Jenner has gone back to her usual behavior on Instagram since the announcement on March 21. Her stories are filled with clips of her postpartum life and a few sprinkled-in links to Kylie Baby, her baby care extension of her main brand, Kylie Cosmetics. For now, she hasn’t shared the new name of her son, only referring to him as “our son” or “my baby” on social media. But when the time comes, we’re sure the newest addition of the Kardashian-Jenner family will have a name fitting for the dynasty of celebrities he was born into.
