Make Your Own Ripped Jean Shorts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

What You Will Need:

A pair of high-waisted mom-jeans (Can be found at Goodwill or local thrift store)
A pair of shorts that fit you well (optional)
Scissors (As heavy duty as possible)
Exacto Knife
Tweezers

Lay the pants on the floor and place a pair of shorts that fit you on top of the pants so that the crotches line up. Use the length of your shorts to cut the jeans into shorts.

If you would like a cuff at the bottom cut the shorts longer so they can be cuffed up.

Take the exacto knife and make two horizontal slits where you would like the holes. Now take your tweezers and pluck out the blue threads and leave the white threads. This will be time consuming, so put in a movie to make the time pass or do it with friends. Lastly, put your shorts in the washer machine and when they come out you will have your own $50 urban shorts for less than $10.
