1. Gilmore Girls
Gilmore Girls is a comedy/drama that follows Lorelai Gilmore, a single mother, and her daughter Rory (Lorelai) Gilmore. They live in a small town called Stars Hollow, full of quirky characters. Gilmore Girls is made up of fast paced monologues, and witty pop culture references. Whether you’re watching this show for the first time, or own all seven seasons on DVD, this is a must watch. Sometimes you just need to wallow with the best mother-daughter duo in TV history. To be real, this show is life changing and everyone should be forced to watch it.Â

2. One Tree HillÂ
This show is set in the fictional town of Tree Hill North Carolina, where half brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott, fight for a position on the basketball team. Of course, they fight over women too. All the characters in this show (young or old) are very relatable. Except Dan Scott, he’s the absolute worst. This show is full of Ships, Leyton, Brucas, Naley, Clinn etc. So get ready to fall hard for some relationships. The music moments in this show are incredible; if you are on the verge of tears prepare to be pushed over the edge by Jimmy Eat World, Nada Surf and Jacks Mannequin. Music plays a huge role in this show, they feature many musical guests and Gavin Degraw not only appears but also sings the theme song “I Don’t Want To Be.”Â
Favorite Quote: “It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re seventeen and planning for someday, and then quietly, without you ever really noticing, someday is today, and that someday is yesterday and this is your life.”Â
Â
3. Gossip GirlÂ
Gossip Girl follows the lives of privileged teens in the Upper East Side. Tracking the many ups and downs of Serena Van Der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf’s friendship. I wish I had the pleasure of watching Gossip Girl on Netflix for the first time, because I had to wait five years to find out who Gossip Girl was. So if the internet hasn’t ruined the ending for you, watch this show. Even if you know the ending… I have two words for you CHUCK BASS. You need to meet this guy. – XOXO, Gossip GirlÂ
Favorite Quote: “I’m Chuck Bass.”Â
Â
4. Friday Night LightsÂ
This series is centered on a football team in the fictional town of Dillon Texas. If you’re not a big fan of sports, I understand your skepticism towards this show. However, the actual games only take up a small percentage of the show, and it’s about so much more than football. It’s packed of drama filled relationships, family, small towns, etc. You will fall hard for every man and woman on this show. Who doesn’t want to watch a bunch of country boys play football?Â

Â
5. LostÂ
You will be hooked within the first ten minutes of the pilot. You will also be asking yourself, what in the actual f*** is going on? Lost is the single most aggravating thing I have ever watched, but every episode will leave you wanting more. Each character has their own story, and a reason for being on Oceanic flight 815. The people are what make Lost great, they are fascinating. Lost is full of mystery, romance, action and so much more.Â
Favorite Quote: “We have to go back, Kate!”Â
Â
6. House of CardsÂ
This Netflix Original will blow your mind. Kevin Spacey will make your jaw drop in this political thriller. A good thing about this show is the fact it’s a Netflix original, so they put all the episodes up at once. This usually means you wait around for a year to watch the new season in two days…which always happens when watching House of Cards, it is just that good.Â
Favorite Quote: “After all we are nothing more or less than what we choose to reveal.”Â
Â
7. The OfficeÂ
This show will make you laugh like no other. Michael Scott is the best/worst boss, and a complete idiot. You will spend most of the time wondering why people continue to work for him, but then he does something sweet and you understand why they put up with it. The characters on this show are all colorful and unique; they each have their moments that make you laugh, cry, or cry laughing. (And Jim and Pam are the definition of Relationship Goals.)
Favorite Quote: “I declare BANKRUPTCY!”Â
Â
8. How I Met Your MotherÂ
HIMYM is a comedy based around the character Ted Mosby and his quest to find the love of his life, “the mother.” The series is narrated through flashbacks, and the identity of the mother is kept a secret. This show is just hilarious, and he best thing about their jokes is that they’re recurring. Neil Patrick Harris successfully plays womanizer Barney Stinson and provides the best one-liners. Lily and Marshall work so well together as the long term couple on the show, that their comedic moments are best told together. I have a love/hate relationship with Robin Scherbatsky, but a huge love for Robin Sparkles, and you will too.Â
(Warning, the series finale will disappoint. That’s the nicest way I could put it.)Â
Favorite Quote: “SUIT UP!”Â

9. Parks and RecÂ
I almost didn’t watch this show because I believed it to be a rip off of The Office, and I am so happy that I was wrong. The writing on this show is brilliant, and it is by far my favorite cast on any show ever. The following reasons are why you should watch this show:Â
1. Leslie KnopeÂ
2. Ron SwansonÂ
3. April LudgateÂ
4. Ann PerkinsÂ
5. Tom HaverfordÂ
6. Andy DwyerÂ
7. Chris TraegerÂ
8. Ben WyattÂ
9. Donna MeagleÂ
10. Jerry/ Terry/ Larry/ Garry GergichÂ
Favorite Quote: “Treat Yo Self!”Â
Â
10. Unbreakable Kimmy SchmidtÂ
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is one of the most unique story lines I’ve seen in a while. Kimmy, along with three other girls, get rescued from an underground bunker (after being captured by the leader of a doomsday cult) in which they had been living for the past 15 years. Kimmy decides to start her life over by staying in New York. She finds an apartment and becomes roommates with scene-stealer Titus Burgess, and becomes a babysitter for Jacqueline Voorhees. The writing is hilarious and clever, and the theme song kicks a$$. It will be stuck in your head all day, thank you Tina Fey.Â

*No, Friends was not on this list. Because if you had to wait for it to be on Netflix shame on you. But if you ever need a Friends fix, Netflix will be there for you.
