It’s that time of year again. The time where you can’t log onto Facebook without seeing those, “OMG LOOK WHAT MY BOYFRIEND GOT ME,” pictures or, “I’m so lucky to be dating my best friend,” statuses.
Annoying, don’t you agree?
It’s almost enjoyable for all of us single gals to see other people’s painful statuses of, “I’m going to be single for Valentine’s Day this year,” to remind you that other people are in the same boat.
Seeing all these mushy statuses and Valentine’s Day candy in every isle of the grocery store got me thinking about my past relationships…
We’ve all had that ex. Whether they were our high school sweetheart or just someone we talked to for a month, we all have our stories about THAT boy. After hearing from many fellow collegiettes, I’ve chosen the top “ex-boyfriend” stories. Some funny… and some just plain mean.
These will remind you why we’re single, and sort of at peace:
“In high school, I had been dating this kid for at least two years. My friend was having a Halloween party one night and I was sleeping there, so my boyfriend left to go home. He told me he was just going to go to sleep and kissed me goodbye as he said “I love you” and walked way. The next morning, I decided that being the wonderful girlfriend I was, I would go to his house and surprise him with breakfast… I walked into his room and saw my good friend sleeping in bed with him. Apparently, he had a little party of his own after he left the Halloween party.”
“My sophomore year of college, I had been talking to this kid who recently broke up with his high-school sweetheart. After I got a nice Facebook message from her, I learned that they were still talking and she had recently been over his apartment. Obviously, I was faced with no choice but to end things with the kid. About a week later, he tweeted, ‘Oh and if you want your panties back they’re hanging off my balcony #lastlaugh’ I immediately went to see if it was true and yes… there they were… my underwear hanging from his balcony…”
“My senior year of high school I had been dating this boy. I was so excited to spend prom with him and I won prom queen, which made my night even better. After prom, he told me he was going home early to sleep. About a week later, I found out that he had really gone and hooked up with another girl.”
“After my boyfriend and I had gotten in a big fight, he hand delivered flowers to my house to apologize. There was a card attached to it and when I opened it to read it I saw that he had spelt my name wrong. We had been dating for at least a year.”
Like I said… don’t these remind you why we’re single?
