Her Campus UCF (HCUCF): How would your friends describe you?

Barbara Lopaciuk (BL): “Bubbly Barbz!” My friends say I’m lively, ambitious and influential.

HCUCF: Describe your involvement here at UCF.

BL: I am a member of Zeta Phi Eta, a National Professional Fraternity in Communication Arts and Sciences and also Quotes, the PR Club at UCF.

HCUCF: What made you join those paricular groups?

BL: I wanted to meet students who are goal oriented intelligent and exciting. Most importantly, I wanted to find a family away from home. The people a part of these organizations continually inspire me to become a better well-rounded individual.

HCUCF: How important was it to you to get involved when you arrived at UCF?

BL: As a transfer student from Valencia to UCF it was vital to me to get involved in order to make friends and build connections. Also, establishing and maintaining professional connections has always been a priority of mine- I know I will learn more from personal experience rather than a textbook. These connections are opportunities for academic assistance, personal advice and links to future job opportunities. The students and faculty advisors have shown me continual encouragement, and have taught me to never become complacent.

HCUCF: What are your plans for the future?

BL: I plan to live/work in every state I love before I choose to settle down. At some point I will be an innovator and create a product or service. I will reinvest in my company and in other areas like real estate, stock or other business ventures. Ideally, I want to be future business partners with my older twin brothers, Eric and Jayson.

HCUCF: What advice would you give to younger students?

BL: My advice for younger students is what you think is what you become. If you tell yourself you’re the best, then you will perform the best. Our minds are the strongest parts of our bodies.

HCUCF: Tell me about your job at WILTD

BL: What I Love To Do is a media company that started about a month ago by David Daudin. We worked together previously and he knew my passion for PR and women empowerment so he recruited me to join the WILTD team. WILTD empowers women by capturing them doing what they enjoy most—singing, acting, painting, etc. in their underwear. We provide women the opportunity to feel vulnerable and powerful in a comfortable environment because it’s their choice as a woman to do what they want and be who they want.

HCUCF: Any other passions?

BL: I’m passionate about women’s rights, sustainability, the well-being of the youth, saving all animals’ lives and healthy living!

HCUCF: What do you see as your greatest accomplishment thus far?

BL: My greatest accomplishment is the day I moved into my first apartment when I was 18. This day is special for me because I saved money throughout my high school years so I could move out and attend college at the University of Central Florida.

HCUCF: What do you do for fun?

BL: I love to go on adventures! Ranging from exploring new forest trails to use my hammock at, or road tripping to a city to see an artist perform- I’m down. I also enjoy mediating, volunteering, playing ALL sports and cooking!

HCUCF: What is the best advice you have ever received?

BL:“The greatest tool you can use in every decision is your intuition.” – Joan McCain, UCF Advertising and Public Relations Area Coordinator
